    Fabulous Bel Air Remodel by Architect Peter Sjostrom

    After completing high profile projects in the UK and Europe, noted architect Peter Sjostrom completes a major Bel Air private residence remodel.

    FRENCH (R)EVOLUTION

     March 5, 2010: An extensive renovation to an existing 9,000 square foot Bel Air
    Crest estate

    Once an aging Tudor style villa, the exterior and interior of this stately
    home was completely transformed into a fresh take on the French château. 
    Stripping the structure down to the bare bones provided a clean slate for
    reconstruction and the possibility to reconfigure the plan to suit the current
    needs of the client. The maid's quarters were moved out of the main house
    into an annex off of the garage with a separate entrance allowing for the
    extension of the kitchen and service areas. By reconfiguring the main
    staircase and gallery, the cathedral ceiling height of the foyer was accentuated 
    for a much grander entrance. An elevator was discreetly tucked away off of 
    the new service hall, concealed at the second level by a false dormer.
     
    On the second floor the master suite was reordered to provide separate
    His and Her baths and larger closets. Limestone floors, custom cabinetry,
    mahogany wainscoting and artisan Venetian plasters were among the many
    fine finishes that helped elevate the interior of this home to a new level of
    elegance. New windows, doors, railings, stucco and precast transformed the
    exterior into the classic "French" look it boasts today.
